Our Story 💗
The Book Shack began as my little bookish business, run from a garden studio where I design, create and pack all of your bookish orders.
What started as a small idea has slowly grown into a much bigger dream, opening a real, independent bookshop.
I dream of creating a cosy, welcoming space filled with incredible books, with indie authors at the heart of it. A place where readers can discover stories and authors they may never have come across otherwise, find their next favourite read and feel part of a bookish community.
There have been lots of ideas, planning and “could I actually do this?” moments along the way… and eventually I decided that instead of just dreaming about it, I wanted to try.
And that's how this Crowdfunder began.

Why Crowdfunding?
Opening a bookshop has been a dream of mine for a long time, but turning that dream into reality comes with a big upfront cost, from finding the right premises and filling the shelves with books, to furniture, signage and creating the cosy space I imagine The Book Shack becoming.
Rather than waiting years for the “perfect time”, I decided to take a chance and ask the amazing bookish community I've built around The Book Shack to be part of the journey.
Crowdfunding isn't just about raising money. It's about finding out whether we can build something special together, a bookshop that champions indie authors, helps readers discover new stories and creates a welcoming bookish community.
Every pledge, reward chosen and share helps bring us one step closer to opening those doors.
